The City of Richmond picks up yard and garden trimmings each week from single-family homes.
Collection occurs on the same day that garbage and recycling are picked up.
There is no limit on amounts. However, all trimmings must be packaged in CLEAR, STRONG
PLASTIC BAGS or in securely-tied bundles not more than 3 feet in length and not more than 2 feet thick.
Please place trimmings separate from garbage and recycling.

Richmond residents can drop off yard trimmings at Ecowaste free of charge. Please be prepared to show proof of residence.
Richmond residents can also drop off trimmings at the City Recycling Depot free of charge, in amounts less than one cubic yard (a car, station wagon or mini van load.) Please take proof of residence.
For larger loads, the Recycling Depot charges a fee of $20 per cubic yard.
